Reading: Developing fluency, reading for comprehension, exploring different genres (fiction, non-fiction, poetry).
Writing: Writing paragraphs, learning to organize ideas, starting to write essays and small reports.
Grammar and Punctuation:
Nouns: Proper and common nouns, plural nouns.
Verbs: Action, linking, and helping verbs.
Adjectives and Adverbs: Words that describe nouns and verbs, respectively.
Pronouns: Subjective, objective, and possessive pronouns.
Conjunctions: Words that connect clauses or sentences (and, but, or).
Prepositions: Words that show the relationship between a noun and another word (in, on, at).
Sentence Structure: Simple and compound sentences.
Punctuation: Periods, commas, question marks, exclamation points.
Listening and Speaking: Participating in discussions, making presentations, and listening for information.
Vocabulary: Expanding vocabulary through reading and sentence making, using context clues to understand new words.
