IN THIS COURSE

  1. Reading: Developing fluency, reading for comprehension, exploring different genres (fiction, non-fiction, poetry).

  2. Writing: Writing paragraphs, learning to organize ideas, starting to write essays and small reports.

  3. Grammar and Punctuation:

    • Nouns: Proper and common nouns, plural nouns.

    • Verbs: Action, linking, and helping verbs.

    • Adjectives and Adverbs: Words that describe nouns and verbs, respectively.

    • Pronouns: Subjective, objective, and possessive pronouns.

    • Conjunctions: Words that connect clauses or sentences (and, but, or).

    • Prepositions: Words that show the relationship between a noun and another word (in, on, at).

    • Sentence Structure: Simple and compound sentences.

    • Punctuation: Periods, commas, question marks, exclamation points.

  4. Listening and Speaking: Participating in discussions, making presentations, and listening for information.

  5. Vocabulary: Expanding vocabulary through reading and sentence making, using context clues to understand new words.
